Rare circa 1800's snake vertebrae bracelet
Rare circa 1800's snake vertebrae bracelet
Circa 1800’s French & Czech snake vertebrae in white, pastel pink, jade, and buttercup. The white tooth-like shaped interlocking beads are difficult to date and where they were made remains a mystery. In the 15 years I have been collecting old African trade beads, I have never come across any like this. They have a speckled white matte finish reminiscent of vanilla bean ice cream and appear to made out of a porcelain like material, similar to the other vertebrae in this bracelet. Truly a one-of-a-kind piece. Each bead was cleaned and restored by myself and remains in beautiful condition given their old age and distance traveled. Patina is present, not all beads are perfectly shaped.
Memento mori white hand carved bone skull with emerald green crystal crown, gold plated and brass spacers, JM signature gold logo tag. Strung on strong stretch cord. Roll over hand to put on and take off. Avoid water to keep metals shiny.
